What is an Axial brain CT scan? Isn’t that the 3D CT image?
I’m working with on the MevisLab to extract the midsagittal plane of the brain. The module says the input image must be transversal. What does it exactly mean?
In this document, around page 53 (section A Explanation of Patient Orientation (Normative), Figure A-5. Planes - Whole Body - Transverse) is the explanation of transverse (axial) plane, with examples of axial slices. Compare that with the sagittal and coronal orientations and slices shown on the next couple of pages.
Which means that MeVisLab’s module expects the CT image to be a stack of axial slices, not a stack of sagittal or coronal ones.
