I am a Ph.D. graduate in physics from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, and a postdoctoral research member of the LASER OPTIMAL research group of Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy. Since 2008, I have been working on cancers, nanoparticles, and radiotherapy as a kind of cancer treatment method. I have done a wide range of interdisciplinary researches and have cooperated with different research institutes and laboratories. I work with MCNP, Geant4, COMSOL codes and have started working with GATE code to simulate theoretical problems in our projects and also, I do both In Vitro and In Vivo experimental studies in the ORC laboratory. I have the strong background in programming languages used in medical physics. I am working on laser therapy of pancreas tumors in combination of Nanorods. The rationale is the control of the energy delivery in tumors, aiming to minimize the unwanted heat dispersion into the surrounding healthy tissue. The multidisciplinary team is working on the design of a patient-specific platform, useful to plan the treatment and to monitor the laser ablation evolution in real-time, in conjunction with the injection of nanoparticles, used to enhance the selectivity of the treatment.
Through my MSc, PhD and postdoctoral research, I have gained much knowledge of different kinds of cancers and have gained much experience designing and implementing Monte Carlo simulation, laboratory and animal experiments in cancer therapy and nanotechnology aimed at investigating the effects of nanoparticles on cancerous cells while patients are undergoing different types of treatment such as X-ray and Gamma radiation therapy, brachytherapy, laser therapy etc. Also, I have acquired the knowledge to analyze the data related to nanoparticles toxicity, cellular uptake, cell viability and TEM.
My background includes 10 years of professional research experience, including my current role as a graduate research assistant at ORC & TERC, research centers of Shahid Beheshti University of medical science and LASER OPTIMAL research center of polytechnic university of Milan, prior experiences as an executive director of several research projects.
My research work about eye tumors treatment with nanoparticles was selected as a hot topic and I was awarded a Golden Ribbon for the best Research subject and hot topic in the (ARVO) Annual Meeting which was held in Colorado Convention Center, US in 2015.
After completing my PhD degree in physics, I was selected as a research member and also executive director of research project at TERC & ORC lab, where I have done and experienced in cell culturing, synthesis of nanoparticles, cell viability and toxicity assay using MTT, colony assay, cell-proliferation assay or cell death detection ELISA kit, animal modeling of cancer and combined treatment with nanoparticles.
