# Select output directory for series without namesgenerator

How to chose the output directory to save the files from dicom series writer (2D) if I am reading from a volume 3D?I am not using not using namesgenerator but numericseriesfilenames to generate the file names for my series.

Two options:

1. change current working directory.
2. put the path into the filename pattern, e.g. `C:/path/to/image%03d.dcm`.
