# ITK-SNAP 4.4.0 – “Access Denied” Error During Local Server Python Package Setup

Hi everyone,  
I faced an issue while setting up the Local Server in **ITK-SNAP 4.4**. When I clicked **“Setup Python Packages”** , the installation failed with an **“Access denied”** error related to files inside the auto-created `dls_venv` directory. No matter how many times I retried, the setup couldn’t proceed because of this permission error.

I was able to resolve it only after **uninstalling and reinstalling ITK-SNAP** , after which the Python package setup ran successfully. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I’m curious about what might cause the access problem and if there’s a recommended workaround besides reinstalling.
