# Can I analyze the thickness of a stl model, and then showed with a color map.

Can I analyze the thickness of a stl model, and then showed with a color map.  
The distance between the two sides of an object.

The [question was also asked on 3D Slicer forum](https://discourse.slicer.org/t/how-to-analyze-the-thickness-of-the-model/2735), and I have added some answers there, but it would be good to know if there are more/better tips.
